The IseMoody Story
Our Story
Ilona Abdullaeva grew up in the rhythm of garment making and continues to seek craft that carries history, patience, and meaning
A Life Lived Around Fabrics
Tailoring was part of Ilona's world from the very beginning. From an early age, she grew up among textiles, patterns, cutting tables, and sewing machines.
As a teenager, Ilona entered the world of mass production, working with international brands. This experience shaped her understanding of technology and systems. Later, she studied the history of medieval fashion and created reinterpreted historical costumes for the tourism industry. In the next period, Ilona mastered fur and leather craftsmanship and opened her own atelier dedicated to bespoke tailoring. Over time, her focus shifted toward the art of hand printing, a knowledge that lives through centuries and is passed from hand to hand, from one woman to another. Ilona collects and practices hand printing techniques from around the world, from Africa to Scandinavia, working directly with artisans and bringing these traditions together into one artistic language. Each print is created by hand through rhythm and meditative work that shapes energy itself. The fabric holds this state. Each piece holds memory, meaning, and a state that can be worn.
That search led Ilona to the Sahara, to artisan workshops and family dye houses, where hand printing and fabric dyeing live on through generations.
The colours and print patterns revealed a different way of working with fabric.
More Than Clothing
It was here that IseMoody was born, between European craftsmanship, personal artistic vision, and the rich cultural heritage of the Sahara. Each IseMoody dress begins with hand printed fabric and becomes a unique piece shaped through careful design decisions. Every dress exists only once. Ilona's vision is to preserve traditional textile printing techniques worldwide while providing stable work and fair conditions for the artisans who carry this knowledge forward.
IseMoody is shaped by women who choose their own way. Each dress is one of a kind. Each woman brings her own state. Through IseMoody, women reconnect with what is theirs and recognize it in each other.
